Default Removing Crankshaft Pulley

Hello Chaps

It will be time to change the cam belt on the Escort soon and I will of course need to remove the crankshaft pulley. Last time I borrowed a puller but I can't get hold of the tool this time.

I have been told that there are 2 types of bottom pulley, 1 with 3 screw holes and 1 without. Mine has the screw holes and the last puller I used was specifically designed for these holes and made the job very easy!

How does everyone else remove the pulley? Is there a commercially available tool?

Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

Cheers

Paul

A lot easier with the tool, but once off lap the pulley and crank nose with some valve grinding paste, after removing woodruff key, till it's a snug rather than stupid tight fit, takes about 30-45 mins but well worth doing, as can then be slid off with 1 finger, bolt only needs tightening to normal torque, no thread lock needed.
