Default power steering racks...leakage.

Hi all, after my car's been sat in a garage for a year it seems to have grown a leak from the steering rack, woop woop!

It's coming from a split gaitor from what i can see, is it just a case of fitting new gaitors or do i need a whole new rack?!?!

cheers, pete

it will need a new rack mate, as there shouldn't be power steering fluid in the gators,

i repaired mine by replacing the seal but it didn't last long tho mate and that was only a tempory repair anyway while i found time to replace the whole rack

You could try some WYNNS power steering stop leak, can work wonders for years, it swells the seals slightly, awsome stuff in auto boxes as well that lose drive due to old soft seals.
This could ime last years, so will at the very least buy you some time to sort it at your convenience.
