Default Powering extra screens and consoles?

Hello,

Just wondering about powering these items, I would of thought it would just drain the battery so would you put an extra battery in the boot?

If you did have a extra battery how would you keep it charged up?

I dont want to do this but a friend does and he cant find anything about this.

Many Thanks Eigdoog.

not exactly sure what you are trying to do, but if you are adding another battery, use a split charge system.
it basically senses when your main (starting) battery is fully charged and switches to charge the reserve battery aswell. also when the engine is switched off it isolates the 2 batterys so you can't flatten them both.
used on landys etc. for winching and campervans, ive got this setup in my vw t4.

What it is that he wants to put a xbox and a small screen in his car but dont want to run it form the 12v socket.

So ill tell him to add a battery and get a split charge system.

Cheers.

ah right, yep, add a leasure battery, the biggest he can get, think mine is 105ah, split charge system, and a 240v inverter.
have a look on the xbox and it will tell you the power supply wattage, i would just get an inverter a bit bigger than this as they get very expensive as you get bigger. do a bit of reading up on inverters as there is a fair bit too them, like most are modified sine wave, the pure sine wave ones are even more expensive.

tell your mate not to be a twat. a car is for driving, a house is for an xbox. one day he'll regret spending money on shit like that when he can't scrape together a house deposit and can't afford petrol for his shitbox.

If he wants a 240V inverter, and this is suitable:

I can get him a discount on one...
