I have been in the arena and no expert by the way, however there is no way that youd be able to get enough speed up for a jump like that,bad planning imo!!

Looks like he may have wheel spun too much on his acceleration, hence not enough speed

Looks like it wheelspun in first and bogged into second. I bet he knew well before the takeoff he'd cocked it up, but couldn't stop before the top.

that was pathetic. sounded to me like he backed off so as not to be too fast and that made him too slow / changed the balance too far forwards.
