My cheapo brake kit....
A couple of months ago I asked about Mitsi Evo Brembos on the Focus RS.....
Well here it is all fitted up...!!!
Front discs are EBC Ultimax (up the EBC's!!!!) from a VW Pheaton
360mm x 34mm
Mitsi Evo Brembos (refurbished by Brake Engineering with new seals and pistons).
Ferodo pads.
Customs brackets which I made up from billet alloy.
Total cost was just under £350!!!!!!
Took me in total about 7-8hrs from start to finish to do the whole job.
CheeRS

Nice, but it looks like they're only gonna sweep 60% of the disc at the most?

The Evo pad is about 40% bigger than the STD Focus RS pad.... I redrilled 2 hole and had to file 2 of the standard holes to convert to 4x108 stud pattern.

Nice conversion
Btw do you have any idea if that kind of conversion is possible with a 283mm disc? Using instead of the Evo Brembo's, the Fiat Coupe ones?

It's a 1999 1.6 Petrol Ford Focus with probably 17s, but if it's to much i'll go 16s!

I'd more than likely use the 300mm disc from the ST170, they should fit with no issues under 16" or 17" alloys

But what about the thickness of the disc? The Brembo's work better with 26/28mm discs right?

Wouldn't worry too much I had some Merc Brembos years ago that originally ran with 32mm discs and used 28mm Focus RS discs

I will then look out for a pair of 283mm discs with 26mm of thickness to go with me Brembo's
And hope that all fits under 16''...fingers crossed! Thanks for the help.

Yeah the evo conversion looks like it will be very good..
I just don't rate the standard focus rs brakes that much.. They work fine, just not as well as i'd hoped for!

EVO 5-9 calipers are all the same. Ive been looking into this for my Celica GT4.
The original disc sizes for these are:
Diameter: 320mm
Height: 43.5mm
Width: 32mm
PCD: 5x114mm
Centre Bore: 67.1mm
Not sure what later Fords run 5 stud though?

It's cheap, but the weight of those discs is significant.
