Angry mates had a barn fire RIP cars !!! :(

bad news for the end of 2010 for my mate.
my mate has a barn used to house some of his cars and many spare parts.
yesterday tea time the joining barn went up in flames taking his with it
he and his bro have lost :
2 x mk1 escorts
1 x mk2 escort
1 x genuine un used mk1 chassis floor pan/inner wings
1 x drop top morris minor
1 x 68 camaro ss
1 x 60's chevy stepside truck
and many spare parts it got that hot it melted alloy wheels to liquid and left pools of alloy on the floor.
BAD NEWS not nice to see today as a ford lover and nothing salvagable

dont want to put any pics up for my mates sake.
we think it started with the guy next door welding he burnt all his hands and arms and is in hospital so we dont know everything yet.
insurance is not looking good sounds like the farmer who owns the farm has insurance for the buildings but not for vehicles in them ????

Hope he's insured !

Wonder if the fire starter tried to get in to your mates unit to save his stuff or if he couldn't get in or what.

That's really sickening mate and a big shame. To be honest i would have thought it's up to your mate to arrange the contents insurance for the barn that he is using.
I used to live in a rented house and the landlord sorted out the buildings insurance but we had to have our own contents insurance - not sure if it's the same for outbuildings/barns though. Even if he is insured I doubt if the insurance company will pay out a realistic value for the vehicles lost.

As above the owner will have building insurance, that covers damage to building not the contents on the inside so hopefully your mate has his own insurance.

Feel very sorry for the guys Fire is the worst thing, at least when you crash (even quite badly) there's normally salvagable parts. The Camaro would have been worth lots even if it was a rough one.
