Default Is it cheese or are these seats really nice.

Hello,

Just was potting around and find this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1989-FORD-SIER...ht_2506wt_1141

I REALLY like these seats with the white round them and the cosworth on the arm rest.

What do you think and how much do you think it would cost to get this done?

Many Thanks Eigdoog.

They don't look like leather to me,more like leatherette which looks fantastic but isn't too clever to sit in.

Budget about a grand upwards for real leather and about 1/2 if leatherette.

I think the white piping is tacky and doesn't match the rest of the interior. As sapphires don't have piping standard, you'd maybe be better with a different colour stiching?

You'd be looking easily over 1K to do an interior + door cards in good leather.

Looks alright, the cosworth sticthing on the arm rest is a bit over the top though. Plus you would never see it when sat in the car!

It does say 'leather' in the description, so I presume it is. It'd look a lot nicer (IMO) if it didn't have that piping.

Piping like that has a habit of going all wonky (like on the driver's seat) and looking kack. Also, what's with the Cosworth logo on the armrest?? Is it in case he forgets what he's driving. I've never seen the sense in plastering your interior with the name of the car.

As for retrims - I've seen a lot over the years, and you always get what you pay for. I've never seen a cheap retrim look anything other than cheap!!

that interior looks like it was done by someone who thinks they are a auto trimmer but infact are not.

if you look carefully you can see the fit of the leather is not a recaro standard quality fit. It looks like someone had a good go but a decent trimmer who's been doing the job 40 years would do it better.

bet theres loads of people though who dismiss the hard facts and all that and think its brill cool wicked cheap at a grand etc

He was robbed then. Even if it looked better when it was first done, for £2k i would still want it to look ok after a few years of use. As others have said it looks cheap and tacky and a decent standard interior would look better.
I think he's trying to recover his 2 grand re-trim cost in his asking price, no way would i pay 5 grand for that.

He obviously had no choice mate. If a car doesn't sell for your original asking price all you can do is lower it until it does sell and unless you are lucky enough to find a mug that pays over the odds it should eventually go for its true value.
