will it need programming?

you may find that somewhere alon the line there has been an "updated" version produced and you will either need the "updated" bits to go with it or you will havbe to get the "original spec" pump

speak to ginge! about this as he can probably get you the ford codes etc for whay you are after

Kev..... as far as i`m aware they changed the body design when they updated the rollers to sort out the surface failure problem, if it has the same output fitting to the common rail i`m pretty sure it will be ok matey, my Mondingo one was slightly different but it went on and worked ok

There was changes to the pumps to rectify issues as they kept breaking. There may be differences in fuel delivery pressures and flow between the different power variants but as long as you're fitting one ordered from chassis number then you should be fine.

To code the new pump in the procedure is usually as follows.

Fit it and get it ready to run the engine. Reconnect the battery and switch on the ignition but do not crank it. Leave it for 5-10 minutes and then try and bleed the system as normal. Some program up in about 30 seconds of the ignition being switched on but to make sure, I always go and have a brew/snap a log off and come back to it.
