As per post on Mk4 thread. Don't bother, sell the RS2k bundle and fit something else, the I4 is a big old boat anchor

as in other post go to www.rs2000-16v.com for info and my standard i4 gives out 160bhp and 154 ft lbs of torque so not a bad anchor lol

Not a bad figure for standard, most of the ones I have seen struggle past the 140 mark. The engine is also very heavy compared to something like a 2litre Zetec.

I would be looking at something like an ST170 motor which humps the I4 in every aspect. Not a straightforward fit as we have found but has so far been found to be exceptional and it's only in a running state at the moment until the throttle bodies and management goes on. Mate is putting one in a Ka so I see no reason why it shouldn't go in a Fiesta

You need those HP to get all that weight forward
Better off with a Zetec. easy to get and easy to tune turbo wise.

as already said above jump onto rs2000-16v good info on there regarding the 'heavy old boat anchor'

a few turbo I4's aswell with good results for far less than you would think

dont say that MAR K all the passionford experts will tell you that you are wrong and that the i4 weighs a least 2 ton and CAN NOT BE TUNED

It IS a heavy engine but nobody said it can't be tuned. I'm fond of the RS2k which puts me in a minority round here. The unit isn't a desperately good one though for a transplant with the other options open.

I like the sound of the i4 lumps, but, would personally go zetec, due to the options involving turbos.

Alot of people are saying zetec but i was under the impression putting a bigger zetec in a Mk5 was so hard it wasnt worth the bother, thats why people all do puma conversions?

You well need custom engine mount and change the bell housing or gearbox for starters.... But you will do the same with i4 lump..... Im measuring up zetec and cvh blocks at for a turbo conversion.... Its easier than you might think
