Default Sudden loss of brakes?? (Pug 406)

Just on way home from work and had a sudden loss of brakes, pedal goes right to the floor. Checked the fluid level and it was empty, so topped it up but still no brakes??

Is this a sign that the master cylinder has had it?

Cheers, Ed.

Did you bleed it too? If you just topped it up there'll be air in, so you won't have any brakes.

Check the system for leaks. The master cylinder can leak down the pedal into the car if there's no sign s outside.

had that happen with my focus the brake pad material fell off the backing they were nearly new pads too

as said check for a wet wheel or grinding noise from one of the brakes
