lots of people say the cometic ones were shit, but id one on for 4-5 years with no probs at all, but as chip says for all the extra money it ll be id go wrc
Cometic are fine for the power levels you are running.
As with all head gaskets, head/block must be clean and truly flat and the head bolts installed correctly and tighness rechecked after a few hundred miles.
Often enough its the installation that makes the gasket fail !
The only thing I dispute about metal head gaskets is the number of times they say they can be re-used,
IMO, you should only use them once..... !

I have used cometic gaskets on quite a few engines without a problem, but the way that the fire ring design is on the WRC gasket is better in terms of how its folded (I beleive that cometic's machines cant reproduce this), so with that available I would use it instead.
cometic = good enough for most applications
wrc = better and not much more expensive

i used cometic on mine and it was perfect; but i was ultra careful with the fitting of it. The head had a fresh skim and the block was check for flatness and cleaned.
this was a few years ago, but i know i looked at the wrc gasket and it was more expensive. But i dont know how they compare now price wise

ok thanx chip dose he do pistons and the like too? as am for a rebuild soon after i sort my gearbox out god dam 4x4
Yes mate, he does pretty much anything related to big power engines.
I buy nearly all my stuff off him, he is generally the cheapest anyway but more importantly unlike other people selling a lot of this stuff he actually really knows what he is on about!
He has a man who does gearbox rebuilds too for that matter (same fella Mike Rainbird uses too IIRC)
