I've not seen this paint for real, only in photos online and it always looks to be a matt finish. Would lacquering over the top of the crackle look ok or not?

I'm wanting to do some engine parts but would like to make it as durable as possible without spoiling the look of it.

 

I know it's not a car but I had a muddy fox mtb years ago and it was crackle painted from the factory and lacquered too.looked great imo so it's deffo possible.
