Decent cars mate. I've had one for the last year and the only problem i've had is a faulty coolant cap. Mines the V6 and apart from being a bit thirsty i can't fault it.
Are you after a petrol or diesel?

We had some in the rental fleet when I was valeting - they took the abuse pretty well. I know of a couple of people who had HG problems with the 1.8T, which is a shame as it's the nicer drive around town IMHO. If going for the V6, it has to be the 190 model - much better alloys!
They did a '+' spec, which included Sat nav / TV. Sadly despite ordering some ours all arrived without so can't comment on how good the nav was.
Bear in mind that standard tyres are a something like 225/35 so you'll want to check current prices.....and the state of the roads around you! (Plus side of being in Shirley now - less pot holes
)
Economy better on V6 than 1.8T, reaslistically.

Not counting!
The Rover 75 and ZT range had a lot of design input from BMW and as a result are quite good cars (75 is a bit boring though), lots of the parts are actually very similar and in some cases the same as BMW.

We also had 1.8 N/A auto-box 75's on the fleet which were proper slow!! Also for some reason the interiors seemed better screwed together on the ZT. No idea why that would be....

Chris - I live almost over the road from you between the pub n the shops.
Cheers for the comments guys
I have been looking around and seems all good - anything I should know about common probs wise?
Why does the lower spec car have the better wheels?
Petrol V6 for me - V8 for 100+ miles a day would kill me.

Had an 05 plate ZT-CDTi 135+ and it was superb.
Only sold it as my Brother made me a stupid cash offer I would of been silly to refuse
Best thing was, I only gave £3700 for it, one owner, Full history, everything included and was a cracking motorway cruiser with the BMW M47 diesel engine

Airbag light - usually just the wiring under the seat. Easy enough to fix.
Thermostat housing - it's in the middle of the V and can split. It can make the car seem like its got head gasket issues. It's not the nicest of jobs.
Inlet - Motors fail and can often cause a rattle. If it's the actual manifold thats failed it can be costly.
Other than that and making sure it has two keys i can't really think of anything. Others may have some ideas.
Keys are not too bad, they're around £110 and will open the car (manually) and allow you to start and drive away... They need programing to make remote central locking work but thats only about £40.
