just took my gearbox sump plug out and fuck me !!!!!





thank fuck the car has one,,,,, imagine that without one,,,,, i would be crying about needing a new gearbox pmsl



ah well, on the upside ive found where 3rd gear went to and discovered that the later impreza boxes DO have stronger syncros........ shame they fitted a chocolate cogs to it to match !!!

there is more inside too, thats just what came out when i spillt the oil on the floor, ive got a oil drain can thats bound to have loads more inside of it

 

bloody good piece of kit imo.

Think you lot are missing my point,,,,,,, THAT IS MY 3rd GEAR in the photos,,,,,, the box is already fucked and i undone the sump plug to find it stuck to it,,,, thats also the OEM plug which aint dont too bad if im honest,,,, it is a good bit of kit,,,,,,, apart from it aint stopped the box from being fucked in anyway just BLOCKED the sump hole so i had to REMOVE the plug and piss oil all over the fucking floor rather than have a slow dripping into my drain can,,,,,

morale of this story,,,, even though drink driving a fucking stupid idea,,,,,,, it would be alot fucking cheeper than option i took of giving my mate the keys to drive it home pmsl

yes,,,,,,, i think he did but also used the throttle at the same time must be all that power my car gives out and them GRIPPY 40 quid a corner tyres,,,,,, with that sort of combination,,,,, i was only ever on borrowed time i guess !!!

 

i jacked the car up, drove out the roll pins for the shafts,,,, remembered about drianing the box this time, i forgot last time and when i took out the prop,,,,, well didnt wanna do that again anyway,,, i was alot fucking worse this time as the box ACTUALLY had 6 litres of fucking brand new syntrax in it and came out ALOT quicker and got me fucking soaked,,,,, so i took a few pictures and closed the garage door

Think yourself lucky mate, I was under my Impreza today changing a few things and I discovered that someone had forgotten to bolt the engine mounts to the subframe! The only thing holding the engine in was gravity! That explains the clonk I heard under hard cornering a few weeks ago

 

paul, just think of it as weight saving and also saves having to get from under the car to get ANOTHER socket,,, engine change will be done like a WRC car now, pull off hoses and a multipluig and swop the engine pmsl

if i pretend it was from your gearbox can i get a refund PMSL

 

lol, you could almost do that The engine would be out in minutes! Lucky it didn't come at the rally the other week when I was hammering it around across the dirt roads
