good moring all

just wondered if anyone knows of a way to get a locking wheel nut off a peugeot 307??

the misses got a puncture last night soi thought it would be a simple case of changing the wheel only to find the last owner hasnt left the locking wheel nut key in the car!

any help would be great or even a garage the would be able to sort in the lechworth,hitchin area!!

 

hammer a 21 mm socket over the nut, be prepared to loose the socket though ag they can be impossible to get back off, your nut may have a sleeve that spins round the outside of it, if it does this needs to be taken off, usually with a flat driver an hammer

 

go to halfords they do some removing tools...if that fails i have some you can borrow.

 

that kit from halfords wont work on mine because its a 4pin key thing! so theres nothing to grab hold off!!

you local to me then? if you have one that a could borrow would be fantastic!!

 

the socket trick has worked for me a few times, it amazes me how we struggle to get them off but a pikey will have your car stripped in no time at all.

take the car to a garage and get them to weld nuts to the locking nuts

 

The halfords one`s i have here have done so far...pug 307...pug 106...skoda octavia and a saab.

 

good idea but i cant see how they could do it!?

 

really!! i was told it wouldnt work because of the style of locking nut!

 

using a nut similar sized to the locking nut head, weld through the middle of the nut to the locking nut, the heat also helps loosen the locker

 

yea my mate borrowed them and did his 307 hdi..

the locking nut removers will NOT remove the peugeot lock nuts if they are like the ones below

as for welding a nut on that wouldn't work either as the centre pin in the pug ones are like a shear pin

your best bet is go to peugeot and see if they have a master set

 

shear it off first then

 

My mate must have had different locking nuts to them then as he used my tool.

 

i had to do this to my 3dr on all 4 wheels as the locking wheel nut tool snapped

 

yeah these are my ones!

 

Bang a socket on, start big then get one size smaller then again....

Done it a couple of times, just make sure you don't mel hammer your hand as I can tell you it hurts!!!

 

went done to halfords and there kit defo dosnt fit!

 

and burn your paint on your alloy's

 

if they are genuine peugeot nuts main dealer will have a spare key they only do about 5-8 different combos of lock nuts
if not i would bray a socket onto it ive done this load of times

quick update

went to the peugeoy garage they didnt have a lock key that fitted but they did have one that almost fit!

they took all the old locking wheel nuts off fixed the puncture and fitted some new locking wheel nuts with 2 keys for a stagering......................................... ..........71quid all in!!
