official ford numbers or aftermarket makes??

Ford only made a couple of shells, one of which into a full on car which was a demo car before being sold and used in ice racing.

A company called Imtec knocked out quite a few before going under and there are probably 10-20 private built examples out there mostly in a rally or rallycross guise.

Thanks for replying Puma nutter.

Hopefully I will be receiving an ex works shell after xmas, I have seen the shell, not in great detail but via photos and it is the original lhd 4x4 works shell. Never been touched.

So I am trying to get all the info I can to build it as best as I can. This project if it goes ahead will take me a while to complete.

Cheers.

Gordon Vincent built the official Boreham backed cars and made them to accept either Escort Grp A equipment or Escort WRC running gear. Marcus Dodd ran the only Boreham backed car ASAIK

Kevin Proctor definately has one of the boreham spec cars based on a 1998 esc wrc and there is a sister to that although i'm not sure of the equipment level, used in rallycross, the imtec ones never seemed as well specced, pal of mine had one with a quaife seq dog box and a mediocre engine....last time I saw that it was going to Jersey...

John from Ears Motorsport was also building one, not sure if he ever got it finished..

Thanks for the info Ian,

I am not a hundred percent sure it's a ex works shell, but the shell has got the tunnel the rear quaters have been done to take drive shafts fully welded in cage, like I said the car is just a bare shell with doors, boot, bonnet thats it. Never been touched after been fabricated.

Cheers.
