Default Serious Question regarding Poo and Food.

Please tell me.

If you were to weigh yourself on a set of precise scales (lets call this factor 'A'), then weigh a plate of food, less the weight of the plate of course (We will refer to this as factor 'B'), then eat the food and weigh yourself again immediately (factor 'C') would your weight now equal the sum of the 2 earlier factors?? Or would it somehow be different? e.g.

Does A + B = C or does it lose some of its weight somewhere along the way?

Further to this. If you then have a Poo and if you could bring yourself to extract the Excrement from the Toilet Pan and weigh it, would the weight of the Poo (factor 'D') be exactly the same as the difference between your 'Before' weight ('C') and your new 'After' weight ('E')??

Hmmmmm. Where's Carol Vorderman when you need her?

Our bodies take nutrients out of food, so I really don't think 2lb of food equates to 2lb of shit.....

Sorry......

That I can understand, but does 2lb of Food equal 2lb of Weight gained??

And, does 2lb of Poopy equal 2lb of Weight lost?

A+B will = C

D will be less than B due to absortion of nutrients and liquids etc.
C - D should equal E

2lb of food wouldn't equal 2lb of weight gained, cos our bodies take the nutrients turn some into fat and some into energy, of which we burn the energy off and then pull on fat reserves and then we dump the rest.....

Feh! Part timer

In answer to your question I suspect A + B would equal C immediatly after eating the food but wouldn't after your body had started to digest it.

The weight of food you eat cannot gain you the same amount of weight..... if anyone's ever come across the slimming world diet.... you could eat a sack of potatoes a day and still lose weight.... work that one out....

I remember reading about an F1 driver having no breakfast before qualifying once or something similar.
My missus works at Weight Watchers and says some people dont eat before their weigh in, i guess its how soon after u have eaten that is going to make the difference

You are forgetting that food is 'fuel', it gets used. Also alot of food is water which gets sweated out or pissed out mate.

and yes I have a Biology degree before you call me an anorak and one of my degrees is in Sports Science

they actually did this experiment on some dodgy "science" program on telly once.

there were vrious other "interesting" experiments on that program, like how many KG of dynamite does it take to blow up a vauxhall nova
