hi been told high pressure pump could be problem, then told if pump was problem car wouldnt start? any suggestions? car does start and idle and only revs to 3000rpm with glow plug light flashing but excessive blue/grey smoke smells like unburnt fuel, i was thinking maybe injector fault? fanx

 

Get the fault codes read, that would limit the possibilities a lot.

 

bought car possibly needing pump, previous owner got codes read code 1: p1211 (injector control pressure above below desired). code 2: p0251 (injection pump fuel metering control malfunction). would car still run ive pump was at fault? i am just checking before i try and locate pump or injectors, any help would be appreciated.
