well iv got my zetec s fiesta as a project. looking into engine conversions as i miss my rs turbo a great deal. the wiring bit is the only thing that blows my mind away tho.
i was thinking if i was to fit the fiesta rs turbo lump on a diesel courier van g-box so the mecanicals are done. the wiring side i was thinking that instead of cutting looms up to make a super loom, i could just transfer a complete fiesta rs turbo loom (or xr2i) into the car..... would this work?
cheers

If you want to use the FRST engine then you will need the loom and management for that engine, XR2 would not work, you may also need the fuel pump as the one you have may not be able to flow sufficent fuel for the demands of the replacement engine.

easyer than that mate, you can cut back you engine bay loom (starts at the fuse box at the back right of the engine bay, runs lights ect aswell.) cut all the engine sensors out bar the gearbox sensors and fan switchs and the coolent sensor (this tells the ecu what to display on your clocks)
then its 7 wires to put your frst loom in,
standard pumps are pretty good tbh so ok to start with.

But are the connectors and sensors not different on the CVH? Will the ECU connector fit the other ECU, I know there both EEC but the pinout may be different, thats if the connectors are even the same?

you have to retain the stadrd zetec s ecu, it runs the lights and dash , heater ect, all runs through it and its fuse box,
you can how ever trim the loom back loosing most of the engine baysensors,
then lay the frst loom over the top, just popping the ecu inthe glove box then connect up the appropriate 7 wires
so 2 ecus

Cheers bud. I jus remembered about the rs turbo rear set up you wanted...when i went up to that lock up it had be broken into so i forgot as po po had to sort things out before i had access again. Still need it?
To add you will also need to connect CPS, TPS, ACT, cam sensor (AKA phase) and knock sensor etc via the FRST loom there will also be a connection for the Amal (Unless using manual boost control)

i was going to use cvh just because i have the block ready to use for mocking up... i do like the idea of a zetec turbo but i like cvh as its something i have worked on time and time again....hmmm not sure:S would it still run fiesta turbo management? or would it be worth putting standalone on?
if you go megasquirt its easy, as you can still use the rs turbo bay loom, and all its standard sensors inlet ect.,
would make for a nice fun car, and can use standard rs turbo rad and intercooler and exhaust, so makes for quite a simple swap;.
use a sport ka gearbox, better ratios.
i can supply you with a modified lsd for that to

Rods and pistons ideally but decomposition and rod bolts would do. Oil cooler kit, drill sump (use a puma one as holds extra litre) puma inlet (metal) megasquirt and some bigger injectors (2.3 duratec ones) and a 1.6 focus zorts manifold to make into turbo manifold (there stainless) and a t2 or t25
So a bit of outlay but could all be done on budget apart from managment.

Since you said zetec tturbo its really making me think....200bhp and potential for plenty more.. Ill be happy with 200 just for a toy. That way the zs box. Ka bellhousing and modified diff will be fine. No need to change gear box. Or for 200 will a cvh be good?
If u go cvh or zetec u will need a ka box for the bell housing. I blew 3 gear boxs on my zs lol the standard diff is weak hence wanting the LSD. Cvh will do 200 yes just questionable reliability were as a fresh built zetec will cost a grand but only need about 10 psi to do 200..

Will the diff you said you have do the job? Is that a complete build... Turbo and everything?? really thinkin zetec turbo for that price
zs box will survive a short life then lol
U need the ka box for the zetec and with the diff fitted its good for 200 and a hard life. Zs box won't fit.
But if u got a cvh and management is go with that. Have it done in a weekend.
