Default Oil Return Leaking

My oil return on my T3 is leaking, where it connects to the bottom of the turbo core, ive tried taking it off and putting a new gasket and new return metal pipe on but it still leaks.
Its coming from around the gasket - any ideas on a cure anybody?

Many thanks
Roger

Tighten it with a long extension bar and socket.

get hold of a new oil return pipe, or have it skimmed at a machine shop incase its slightly warped

As above, could be warped, they can be quite fussy to seal, also make sure the face on the turbo is clean and free from old bits of gasket

are you sure its not leaking from the feed at the top of the turbo and working its way round?

when fitting a t3 on a frst engine you use the the s2 oil feed it will fit direct on the back of the frst T pice but as for the drain you can remove the threeded drain pipe and fit a s2 stub type drain.

The cometic gasket i used is alot thicker than a normal ford item and i wouldve expected that to seal. Ive tried hymolar gasket sealant on both sides of the gasket with no luck. It def coming from the return.

Where could i find and Escort RST stub/push fit style return that goes in the block? Im using a fiesta Block and threaded return, altho that end is not leaking!

Worth a check of the turbo core i guess... It cleaned up nicely tho, with no obvious damage to it. And the weld is fine on both pipes...

I might cut the metal pipe back and use a longer peice of rubber as the return elbow, as i think its stressing the flange?

ive seen before that the tubo core is leaking and everyone thinks its the oil feed drain
check aroung the turbo unit itself and have you checked that all your breathers are clean and clear so the oils not backing up a tad

Problem found....!

The core/exhaust housing is leaking oil, Its coming from where the 2 join, ive tightened the bolts that hold the exhaust housing on and its slowed it right down to a weep.

Now obviously i shouldnt be getting oil in the exhaust housing...!
New turbo time?
