some one told me there is 2 different type s2 rs turbo boxe is this true and if sohow would i find out which is which the rs turbo is a e reg if that helps cheers

 

i'm not aware of two different S2 gearboxes?

There is a difference between the S1 & S2 box - the S1 box can be fitted to a S2 but a S2 box can not be fitted to a S1 because of the location of the engine mountings.

 

Oh and the S1 has different gear ratios compared to the S2 box

 

They have B5 gearbox in the series 2 but you can put a MTX 75 boxsin out of a mk5 rs2000, they're much stronger than a B5 boxs. But u will have to do some mods to make it fit.

frst geaboxes dont have a lsd in them, get another s2 box (ive only ever seen 1 type for the s2) easiest way to check its a propper s2 box is to look in the drive shaft hole and u should be able to see straight though, if u can see 2 pins then its a non lsd box
