Default Probs with an ebay buyer

right I sold the cheapo tyres off my m5 rep wheels as I will not skimp on tyres!

there was nothing wrong with them and I checked this before I sold them this was a on the 9th of october and now today the buyer is saying that they have sidewall damage and are unsafe etc
I have worked in the tyre trade for well over 10 years and been an mot tester for about the same and would NEVER sell anything that wasnt fit to be used

Sooooo how the fuck can I prove I have done nothing wrong as Paypal are holding £90 that was in my account

This is my ebay add

Going to get the missus to call paypal and see what they say but guessing im going to get

Am starting to think that its all down to another ebayer

I won a "good" pair of continental tyres 6/7mm of tread changed due to wrong size etc for £75,
bargain but when they turned up 10 fucking days later I got a fucked(puncture/split in sidewall) conti and goodyear run on flat(that had been runflat so also fucked) and its only since I have been trying to get all my money back I have been having probs with other ebay users like bidding and then days later saying there account had been hacked

or maybe i'm just being paranoid and this is just another ebay cunt?????????????

To be honest id say to him you want them back and will refund him, trouble is iff you dont paypal will more than likely refund him his money and then he will have a free set of tyres which sounds like what his plan is.

As above if you are seen to be doing "your bit" by saying send them back to me and I'll refund you in full that way if he doesn't Paypal should tell him to do 1...

Thats exactly what I would do mate. I have had loads of shit with ebayers recently and dont even bother trying to prove buyers who are trying it on wrong. Just offer to refund on return and 90% of the time I dont hear anything back from them.

its a shame that this sort of thing happens all to often i had a guy bid on a £500 mtb without looking at it. as soon as this happened i knew there was going to be trouble. he came to collect the bike, gave me cash and told me he didnt really want it. a few days later he tried to get a £50 refund as he said the forks on it were nakered. good job i had an invoice from a well known suspension specialist for a full rebuild. he left me bad feedback and ive never heard anything since.

People like this ruin ebay

i thought this thread was about me somehow not sending you the money for postage on that jack point cover then

ebays full of cunts at the moment, i sold a couple of sets of wheels a few weeks back and one of them went out via courier, thought i was gonna end up with similar then but turned out ok.

The problem is ebay is all on the buyers side, no support for the sellers at all.

Didn't read the rest of the thread but send a letter before claim and offer to take him to court. Literally, the amount of time you can waste talking to twatpal is a joke. I would (have) sued someone for much less than £90 when they've fucked me about and lied (cough a certain postal service cough) so don't let that put you off.

I presume you have proof of delivery in whatever form?

If nothing else, a nice CCJ will stop them getting credit/a decent mortgage deal. That thought always warms me more than caring about whether it will get paid, especially when it's not much money.

If you do ask for them back, he'll no doubt insist you pay him the postage to return them, and if he is a really malicious cunt he'll add some sidewall damage first.
If you dont ask for them back, he'll just win the paypal claim probably and you'll lose all the money.

Bit of a lose/lose situation TBH!

eBay is so stacked in favour of the buy it's unreal.

Little update I got my money back

THEM
the item is not as described as there is damage that makes the tyres un usable.
ME
Hi Ryan
I'm shocked that you say this as the tyres came from my own car as they were 100% fine when I removed them, I am an MOT tester by trade (started off as a tyre fitter)and would not have sold anything that was sub-standard,

so could you send me pictures of the damaged sidewall etc please my email address is ********hotmail.com

Cheers
Matt
