On a Sapphire it's under the spare wheel. It's a black relay thingy with a push switch on it mounted inside a metal bracket riveted to the floor.

try that, just push switch.

There is a fuel pump cut off(inertia) switch under the spare wheel, it has a white square button that pops up if tripped(turned off) simply depress button to switch back on.

That's weird because I've had about 20 Escort RST's and have never come across a fuel cut off switch. Escort xr3i efi's did though

Second that it's the first thing i look at if the pump isn't priming

Or it may just be one of the million wires that are normally on the battery

My relay came unfixed and one day a fuse fell onto the floor and we stopped!!!! At least i was certain that it was that fuse.

And as said - 3 drs did not have the cut out like the saffs do.

There is two yellow relays on the passenger side. I you look under the glove box you should be able to see them. It could be one of them at fault. You can take one out ov your fuse box and test them one at a time.

First off check the obvious battery connections as the majority of pumps have been rewired direct from battery you may have missed that wire hence no pump.

What sort of alarm is it? It seems unlikely to me to be a wiring problem etc as it's only since you have D/C the battery (Unless by pure coincidence) It could be basic single point immobilization on the fuel pump.

In any case check the relays etc as said anyway, bypass the relay as a test to see if the pump runs.
