Default help please!!!!

i've just done a bit of work on my saff this weekend, i've fitted 2 new front shafts and had the front prop refurbed. everything went fairly smooth but i've just pulled it off the ramp and the steering is very notchy when you turn from lock to lock? ive double checked everything and can't suss it out? could i have done something to the rack when ive had it jacked up turning the steering or could i have disturbed a worn ball joint maybe? if anyone can shed any light on this please do

Check you havnt pulled the column out of its bush on the bulkhead??
If you look under the bonnet and grab the shaft that comes through the bulkhead to the rack, theres a nylon bush kit in there and if its worn you may have pulled it out???

Did you disturb the anti roll bar where it goes through the track control arm ?, if you did and you have tightened up the nut on the roll bar that passes through the TCA, without the weight of the car on the wheels when tightened this can cause this.

All sorted. I think it must have been air in the steering. I took it out today and it's back to normal. The steering is a bit heavy though, so I think a steering flush and oil change is next on the list

Wynns power steering system stuff works wonders, as does a steering cooler as these crucify the oil temperature wise.

changed the oil for some fresh stuff today. pump is quieter and steering is noticably lighter. well worth it imo
