Default Fitting a rollcage in a sapphire

Alright just wondering who has a cage fitted to there sapphires? I am thinking about a change of use for my car but dont want to strip all the interior out, basiclly just want to add a cage to a fully trimmed car. Would the dash need cut or is that dependant on which cage i go for? thanks paul

I thought kitchen roll tubes and gaffer tape would be better light weight rollcage!

depends what cage you get I have a safety devices one in my sierra race car that goes infront of the dash so it didn't need cutting, for a road car I wouldn't put a cage in If I was you.
your head is very close to the cage and in an accident it could be worse for you having a cage in..

If the change of use is to track days etc, then I wouldn't let the dash worry you, just get a s/h one from a normal sierra to cut if not wanting to cut the sapphy one.
I can't see the point of fitting any cage then limiting it's effectiveness due to location points.

I had my cage from Protection and Performance fitted when i had my full interior in the car. The fit is FAR superior to the Safety Devices cages i have seen in Sierras.

my cage is fine for what I need it for, my m8 has a protection and performance cage (the first one actually) in his sierra and it is very good with thicker tubing for a start.

Mine was the first after a length discussion with them at the Autosport Show several years ago, they had the car for a couple of weeks and fitting for FREE. They specifically wanted a car with full trim, so there design could fit with or without trim in the car. So mine was fitted before i had removed any of the interior.
Its a properly fitted bolt in cage, but they'll customise as you wish, eg. how many diagonals, harness bars etc etc.

First pic when it was first fitted with full interior. What impresses most people is the close fit to the body of the cage.

Door bar was removed when i took these a couple of years ago.

Thanks for the info guys will have a think about what direction i want to go with the car. Ridgey thanks for the pics if i do cage it for track use i think that cage maybe the one for me as i dont really want a mega hardcore track car just a useable toy for the track so keeping interior trim would prob suit me
