Default Mondeo Standard V6 to ST24 / ST200 ?

Somehow I have ended up with a Mondeo 2.5 V6 Ghia X which I might use as a cheapo track toy and/or run about.

Just need a simple answer really, apart from the obvious engine managment changes, what is needed to get these to ST24 power levels by exchanging parts or is it a waste of time ?

I know nothing about these engines and assume they are pretty much the same so any help appreciated

I'm 99% sure that they're the same as the ST24 mate... its only the ST200 that came with different bits and higher power.

Cheers,
Grant

Yep, about 160odd bhp. Fit ST200 bits for an extra 20-30 or so bhp - Upper and lower inlet manifolds, cams, throttle body and air filter assembly. A remap would then be a wise idea.

Unless you get a bargain that little lot will work out to be several hundred quid and a lot of aggro.

Cheers Dan.

The car cost me £250.
Its in fairly good condition except the exhaust and brakes and all the toys work !!

I will get some prices and see if its worth it.

Tell you what, how about a feature where you fund the mods...
How about bolting a T4 and a set of bigger injectors to it and see how much power we can make before it shits itself..LOL

God I miss my cossie

Tbh mate if it's a track tool or daily I really wouldn't bother for the additional expense.as it's a ghia x there'll be tons of crap you can remove to save weight and perhaps an exhaust/filter little remap and you'll have a tasty old tool.

I had a mk1 Mondeo ghia estate and it went really well,I loved the motor.

Don't often need to change the chain. What about the clutch? Finger's crossed that that's fine!

Yeah just been looking under the bonnet and it looks like a proper chore to change.
Cant be much worse than doing a 4x4 cossie engine out without an engine hoist as I have done that many times..LOL
