ok, let's get the complaints out of the way first, there is only one, but just because i understand why they've done it, it still don't make it a non issue
staples!!!!!!!!
in the middle!!!!!!!!!!
everyones doing it now and it's something to do with the printing but it's totally fucked up how easy it is to find issues on the shelf and now it's more difficult to pile them up in, well, piles

on the plus side, i'll let the men of the moment tell you, so well done to jamie and niel for the write ups and rod and martin for the cars

you may have set the bar too higg on this one chaps, it's a very good issue

Redline have just done the same with the staples instead of glued pages.
Kind of annoying as mine are all piled up in order and I can refere back to issues easily for information I need by looking on the spine, not anymore!

It's all about cost-cutting.
Share holders and EBITAs are waaaay more important than readers...
The names are 'perfect bound' (aka a spine that you can read) and 'saddle stitched' (aka staples, what the fuck happened to my spine)

Lol, that's happening too! It's a vicious circle.
Not talking about Fast Ford specifically, but in general the print publishing industry is shrinking.
Advertisers are taking their spend out of print onto the net.. Readers are spending more time online than in WHSmith buying magazines, so publishers have less to invest in the product, so quality slowly drops... and so on...

Ppc has staples when it was delievered the others day and so I asked will hollman what the score was and he explained it. Then redline arrived and it was stapled. And now fat ford is stapled.
If the quality is just as good inside then i'm not overlly worried about having to rifle through a pile to find the one I'm after as I might stumble upon something else while hunting for that elusive article
Ok, so are you going to be doing binders as well now?

Shame to have to lose the spin, Ive got them stacked on a bookshelf too and its really easy to see which issue is which, where as the total vauxhall mags ive got stacked are the same as the new format and you cant do so with that.
As Renton says though, im sure its a require cos-cutting measure rather than a styling decision!

Maybe the publishers should look at cutting the cost of the
magazine then and maybe they will win back readers

One thing I did notice, on the 200 club page, it lists the top eighteen fastest cossies, why are neither of the turbosystems 'storm' cars part of the list?

Because they didnt run past 180. Martin followed by the Gaybird were the first past that barrier, Martin followed by Bruce Reid were first past 190. Speeds have gone up incredibly since the Turbosystem days it ran a 179.
I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!

When me and keith decided to change performance fords binding away from perfect bound it was purely a style choice - the thinking was to incorporate the extra staples for the tech section in the middle, which enabled you to pull that section out and keep it. A la fast car mag in the '90s. Also, I think perfect bound works better on really fat mags, a nice by-product of switching to saddle stitched was it made our mag look and feel more full!
Shame to hear things are that dire that mags are having to switch bindings to reduce costs!

Got my copy through the door the other day as i subscribe......have to say it was the BEST issue for a good while imo, really informative read and very well put together with some great in depth articles
I haven't got FF for years!! I used to subscribe for long enough but lost interest. I remember the first issue I ever got, it was when the RS500 first came out. Wish I still had it 'cos it'd be worth a few bob now!
