I remember phoning round a few years ago for a price and the mobile clutch man wouldnt touch it and just about only place that would was Ford and was about £450?! Or has someone found an easier/cheaper way to do it?

hello there mate,
ive done one on the floor and there not that nice to do but not impossible, the subframe gets in the way so your best bet is to remove it completly remember youl need to get some subframe alingment tools for putting it back in. id give it go mate

it will be a long, tedious job mate, but if your handy with a set of tools, and dont mind getting stuck in, you shouldnt have a problem, it will just take a while, as its not an easy job.

cheers for info lads
should have said there's no chance i'm doing it lol but just wondered why it was meant to be such a ball-ache. Take it the subframe is what makes it difficult.

can be done without taking the subframe right off,
just needs dropped down at n/s
box comes back far enough to change clutch,
225-250 in the normal rate these days
