I don't get why people stretch tyres so much. I can understand how a slight stretch can look good but why do people feel the need to go over board with it, it looks shit and is dangerous.

 

what a knob.had 195-45's on it and had to raise it 40 mm,looked wank.well it looks wank now with wheels that are too wide and tires that are too narrow.it looks dangerous as well not to mention potholes.his wheels will look wank when the are all kerbed and square.

Bet that handles awful. I had 195's on a 7j and that felt sloppy as f*ck in the corners compared to the 205's.

 

If it had a better set of tyres on it would make the car look so much better.

i understand the whole 'stretched' tyres thing, and ive actually seen a few that pretty good, with little 'stretch', but thats just insane, but, his car, he drives it.

 

This Darwin bloke gets about, last I heard he was in a Sierra racing an Astra.

As for the stretched tyres, I just dont get it? I mean why play around with your only contact with the road, at least when he crashes he will have an exciting crash story to tell his fellow stretched tyre club members down the youthy.

Im all for the stretched tyre look but that looks shit!! The tyres dont really looked stretched, just put on an over wide wheel!!

Must admit , not my thing but the younger bro had streched tyres on his seat, 195 on a 9" wide rim (yes Wow) but hes been to the ring twice and we did a track day in it, handled lovley, was on KW variant 3 coilovers aswell though.

Amazing what you can get away with in England, I can't even change my wheels without getting it inspected and certified (for about 200€!)

really dont get the point of the stretched look. just buy the right size tyres and be happy in the knowledge you dont have to drive about waiting for the fooking things to de-rim themselves
