Don't get the 380 conversion if you plan to give it a hard life with a load of standing start launches and don't want to be picking bits of transmission up, because it WILL break at some point. Alternatively, don't launch it all the time and it'll last far longer.

Cheers,
Grant

im running the 380 (albeit maybe slightly lower power as i have a .48) and have had no trouble at all, done about 15k with it at that power, done 30+ santa pod launches (anyone who's seen me launch will tell you, im not gentle) and it does get used, i dont abuse it but it does get driven properly.

3rd gear is the one to watch if its 4x4, dont build up the power from low rev's, my rule is dont boost 3rd gear unless its above 4k, seems to work for me.

I did a 13.6 at pod with this conversion. If you launch it a lot your synchro rings wont last long, mine started crunching changing from 3rd down to 2nd but i didnt break any gears.
Price wise i was running stage 3 before and it cost me Ł1200 but i had the wasted spark done at the same time. I sold my old chip, greens, grp a coil and leads for Ł300 so it cost me Ł900.

380 wont brake iver it all depends if they can give any good low down torque thats what brakes your diff and gearbox!

Does MSD's website not quote the 380 conversion at Ł750?

its awesome on the road, really drivable, but quick enough to see off most things you come across!
I really recommend it.

T34.48(or 55 63), injectors greys, blues, siemens, decent RS500 type intercooler, there's a genuine 3" RS500 behr one on the bay at the mo from a RS500, looks mint, obviously then chip to suit, or even better aftermarket management for future mods

and to add, just safety measures that are recommended, group a or similar H/G and a decent breather system, and if its a 4x4, then some new brakes! lol

its great that with such little outlay you have supercar power from an engine designed in the mid 80's.
my car has a fresh 4x4 engine in it but i think i would be better with the 2wd manifold as mine has the 4x4 1 and turbo, then i would need a different exhaust as i think the downpipe would be different.
ill have a look at the 1 on ebay,im waiting on ŁŁ coming in so im trying to stay off ebay the now!

k and n panel will be fine you will also need a 3 bar map sensor stick with 4x4 exhaust manifold as i heard the 2wd one is a bit more laggy?
