Default downswept exhausts?

What exactlly is the point of these? i know why on diesels but never really thought why the sweeds and norwegians have them... im going to have one because they look ace( is this the reason they have them?) but wondered why they do it?

a lot of sound is directional,think noise regs on track days

Ah! cheers for reply mate, so if the exhaust is pointing to the floor it will baffle the sound slightly?

if the exhaust aims at the floor the noise goes down hits the ground and goes in all directions, whereas if it points up the sound only goes up and makes it sound louder.
+ dolphin tale tips (i think they are called) look awesome
