Default Sierra Saphire RS Steerin Hub

Hi, does anyone know whether the front steering hubs on the sierra saphire 2wd cosworth 1988 are the same as standard sierras or special for the task(apart from the brake sensors). I am building a westfield with these and have difficulty with the camber adjustments.

If you mean the front hubs, Cosworth are different to non-Cosworth Sierras. Also 2WD, 3 door and 4X4 are all different from each other.

Hi Charlie,
Yes I do mean the front hubs. Do you know the dimensions of the offset from the upper pivot point/strut connection to the bottom pivot point/bottom ball joint as this is giving me far too much positive camber. I would estimate that this would have to differ by 35mm to cause the problem.
Thanks Jim.

So your strut is in the hub and the hub is located on the steering arms and ARB but the wheel is sitting on its outside edge? There won't be much difference I don't think between all the Sierra hubs on that measurement. I don't think changing front hubs on a Cossie would alter the camber.

Can you adjust other parts of your suspension to compensate? Have you got a photo? Have you looked at pictures online of Cossie hubs to compare them to what you are using?

There's next to nothing camber wise in it between the 3 types of 2wd hub, the std sierra 2wd hub can be used without any problem at all, the area at the hub around the strut is solid on the cossie 2wd hubs, whereas the std 2wd sierra is sculpted out so ultimately not as strong but I've never known one break, that's the quickest way of telling.
The 3 door hubs(although 2wd!!) have a different TCA to hub fixing using a castle nut as opposed to a through pinch bolt as on the 2wd cossie, the std non cossie 2wd hubs are the same as the 3 door hubs fitting wise.
The geometry of the 3 door hubs is very different, as these had majorly less castor, and there were other changes to these they make the turn in a LOT better but a lot don't like them as it makes the car twitchy, ford actually recalled as free a lot for owners that complained of this, so there were two different front arb on the 3 door, a H13 and a H14, the H14 was the modded one with more castor, moving the wheels in the wheel arch slightly.
A decent set of 3 door hubs are worth around £250, but if ultimate handling using oe parts is your game worth getting imo.
