Check the wire from the battery to the starter. There is a shit connection in the wire that breaks. Its a live wire by the way. They break on the royal mail vans all the time. Just cut the connector out and rejoin the wire.

If its just a straight engine change then you dont have to do anything, i.e programming wise, just swap the engine and away you go.

I presume it cranks?

Does the pats light flash really fast when its cranking?

thats what i thought it would be straight forward unfortunaly i cant ask the place that did the swap as there no longer in business, i dont no anything just yet as i have not seen the van since the swap but ive been told the fuse box it out half the dash is out and parts are in the back!!!

i'll be gettin in saturday afternoon and putting it back together, just wondering what problems they might have had to make them need to strip the fusebox and look at wiring

its a swb low roof L200

Again, petrol or diesel?

First port of call would be to get it all back together electrically

Not really sure tbh, like i say, it should just be a straightforward engine swap, i think i'd be tempted to put it all back as it should be and work from there,

Cheers, Karl

The diesel pumps need to be coded to the ignition/ecu, so if they did not use the old pump then that might be a problem?

Connect pumps don't need to be coded, the pats is in the instrument cluster iirc, yes you can code your existing keys to a different ecu, don't know why they would have changed it though, unless they changed the wiring loom/ecu at the same time as the engine?

According to TIS;

5. Configure the fuel injection pump to the powertrain control module (PCM). For additional information, refer to WDS.
6. Using the special tool, prime the fuel injection pump until clean fuel is seen entering the vacuum pump reservoir.

There are 2 fuseboxes Dojj, and one of them is indeed behind the glove box, the other is near the battery

connects have problems like this, another one is the crank sensor which is hidden at the bottom and at the back of the engine, apparently if this isn't plugged in or is faulty, then the connect engine won't turn over.

true aswell:
1) Cable between battery, alternator and starter are prone to wear and tear and will break, resulting in a non starter/battery light coming on and off on dash.
2)afaik the diesel pump does need coding to the ecu for it to work properly
3)also afaik the pumps are self priming? - depends on the year?
4)2 fuseboxes - one under bonnet by battery for all externals and relays, one fusebox inside which does all the little fuses, lights, radio, etc. (the usual stuff)

is it the TDCi engine or TDDi and what size engine is it? 75, 90 or 110?

It does sound as if they did not get the required parts coded to the van's ecu?

Does it crank over?

As you say, best to put it all back together and go from there

From the very few TDCi's that I have seen, the injectors are all connected to a common distribution object, which then connects to the pump.

The Tddi's, which I have, the injectors all run back to the pump.

yeah, could be the 75, 90 or 110
only reason i ask is that on the 110 the turbo wastegate is electronically controlled, the common rail is like a big spider in front of the engine rocker that goes off to each injector and other end to the fuel pump.
do you just want to keep it a standard van, because you could turn it into an RS connect
