Default Do you get a m3 (R -reg) that is 1.9L???

I have just been offered a px for a R reg bmw "m3" for my Road legal quad, looks like an m3 but when I did a vehicle check it came back as being a 318is 1.9L. I said to the guy is it a replica and he said no its a 318is 1.9L M3 coupe.

I thought M3's were about 3.0L....

Is there such a thing as what he has?

Thanks Guys

Quite a few E36 318is's did come with the full M3/M-tech kit, but no they are not a genuine M3.

M3 - 3.0

M3 EVO - 3.2

the M3 kit was an option though according to a mate who has a 325i, so maybe it had it fitted at the factory, apparently his was ?

You can order whatever bits you want when you buy a new bm, my mate had a black 318is that had just about everything M3 bar the engine, all from the factory. My Alpina had M3 mirrors and rear spoiler from the factory.

The bloke selling that car sounds like a complete tosser, trying to pass a 318 off as M3.

M3 coupes came with vaders, saloons and convertibles didn't.

vaders were fitted to coupes, not 4 door M3's, or cabbys

If the advert stated m sport and not m3 sport then it would be right.

Are you feeling a bit dumb tonight.

It clearly says M3 in the advert NOT M SPORT.

if i buy a focus and ask ford to fit an RS kit on it at the factory for me does that make it an RS????

No

who cares the lot of you stop arguing... lol

weve established that this is a 318is m-sport

we've established that a 318is M-Sport is not the same thing as an M3

what else do we need to discuss? lol

it makes me laugh when you see a bmw that might have a set of M sport wheels on, then there is a M badge on the back. This makes me laugh so much. Its like having a 1.6l saff with cossie wheels on then putting a cossie badge on the back.
