I've never really understood people stripping and selling interior for cars that are getting rarer and rarer... because it'll be a total ball ache trying to replace them if/when the time comes that they realise the small weight saving wasn't really worth it (unless their car is dedicated track toy) and they want some sort of comfort back.

Stripping something like a Saxo out isnt an issue, their interiors are shite and worth about 40quid... and the lightening will have an effect on power to weight of those cars since they're struggling to make massive power as it is. But on something thats big power, does it really make much difference?! Specially as most of the time people fling in a cage when stripped out.

Cheers,
Grant

The difference is AWESOME.. Acceleration, Braking, Handling all improved massively. I've removed all of the bitumen based sound proofing as well so it all adds up quite nicely.. 90-100kg easily I should imagine.

My car is going to be used for some 1/4 mile action next year.

Cage is suprisingly light.

If I were you I would just store the lot (if you've got the space). When it comes to selling the car you'll have a lot better market and it'll command more money if it's got a mint standard trim in it. You'll struggle to find the same bits again now, especially in that condition. Just my two penneth.

i think they are worth more than £550. i would say price for just front and rear seats is £500. my opinion is that lot is worth close to £1000

luke i would keep it for that rainy day when you decide to sell the car, £550 is peanuts really and will cost you more to replace but will gain you more in resale of the car or at least an easier sale if you can put it back in.

PS we all see we are not going to sell these cars but who knows whats around the corner

£550 is what I sold my complete trim for.

Just make sure your doing the right thing Luke, you will struggle to get a decent replacement later on.

Luke i know of many that have tried to sell stripped out cars and they have been difficult to shift - for what you would get for the trim i would keep hold of it mate unless you are desperate for the money - £1200 min for the lot though i would say

Sorry for the late reply fellas, Ive just got in from work

OK.. I hate to mess people about but judging by the amount of concern on this thread as well as concerned PM's and also full offers by PM within a few hours of me putting them up for sale it seems that I have priced this too cheaply!

BUT

I would like to shift the lot as it takes up so much space. Now I'm so sorry to mess the people who have made offers about (I really appreciate them.) but I'm going to up the price by a bit (I'd be a FOOL not to)

NEW PRICE £700 (from what people have said I still think this is very reasonable)
If it has not sold within a few weeks I shall split and the people who have earmarked bits will have the chance to buy them. Its got to go

there was a black 3dr with orange cage all stripped and that didn't sell at 8K, id keep the interior but its also your decision.

Luke if space is the only issue im sure i could sought something out for you, i have a big empy loft i could slot it in for you.

You named your price at £550 ONO and I pm'd you offering the full amount, sadly you then decided you wanted more And for that reason I'm out! I would take the door trims (as long as you dont jack the price!) but I'm not interested at £700

That's very kind of you mate, appreciated I know that I'm running the risk of my car not being worth as much but I'm willing to take it on the chin

Sorry if I've p1ssed you off.. I appreciated your offer and have apologised for changing my mind on the price, I know it's not the done thing and I can see why you're "out".

I haven't much of an idea what it is all worth hence the original wording in the post.
Is £700 unreasonable in your opinion then? (out of interest)

I think they're worth as much as someone's prepared to pay, I recently bought a pair of mint 3dr front seats for £180 so the stuff is still out there at decent prices, I really only need the door cards but was prepared to buy the lot and then sell the rest on. I would bid you £600 but no more.

i think £700 is a good price considering it comes with headlining all plastic trim etc, and all in excellent condition, you don't see many trims with everthing just hold out for the right person.
