thought id post some pictures of my new ride. bought it a week ago with no tax or mot for £300. had it mot'd and it needs welding - going to be done this week, new brakes - using old xr items.

tbh i think the guy robbed himself. its in really good condition generally. theres only a bit of cosmetic rust on the outside, with a little needing to be welded on the floor! the engines a gem to, but it doesn't matter - ive got a cvh coming from a car chrisfosters doing a turbie conv on, in 2 weeks or so.

its got a stg 3, ported and polished BV head, piper 285 cam, port matched manifold, 40's all on a lightend and balanced bottom end. should be pretty nippy when its in!

im in need of an erst box, and mk2 xr2 driveshafts and hubs, so if anyone knows of any going cheap, let me know please.

cheers, im getting alot of jyp for modifying it, but to be honest, everything i do will be conservative and not to lairy. will still look original.

i need to get some pics of the engine, keep forgetting!

its off to the welders sometime in the week, when i get it back the the real work begins!

should be a proper RST muncher when ive finished with it!

hopfully ill get it back by next weekend, i can start on getting the back end sorted with paint etc where i stripped it of a bit of rust, get new new brakes and pipes on, new rear antiroll bar, CV boot etc etc. then i wanna get all the bits i need to fit the engine before i take the old one out. then when im sorted with all the bits, take the old engine and box out, get the 5spd kit welded in then bobs your mothers brother!

Classic motor that mate and looks sweet . Ditch the Ring spots though and get some genuine Ford ones back on there though as the Ring ones look a bit gash IMO.

im not that bothered about making anything on it mate, i bought it and im building it to be an rst eating sleeper - so thats what its gonna be.

ill be able to break it and make money on it if i needed to anyways - but id rather pass it on and let someone else have fun too.

whats the fun in keeping it std eh!?
