Default Advise on buying from another member

Hi,can anyone give me any advise on how to protect my money when buying from another
passionford member?
I have bought items before but for much less than i would be spending this time and i would normally do my best to pick it up in person but this is impossible.
I would like to stress i have no reason in any way to suspect but i have read stories on here concerning people being conned by other users and need to protect myself.
I have considered asking for the item to be listed on ebay but have desided their fees are way to much, paypal is another option but im not familiar with thier protection when buying from outside of ebay
many thanks

i would be asking myself firstly, has he/she been on here long? how many posts he has and see if he/she has "friends" on here.

If the seller is bonefide then he wont mind you asking about what he's like as a person aswell by posting the question about him.

best way is to say who is selling the bits to know if they are likely to rip you off or not

state who it is and get some feedback from other members if possible, look back at his posts and see if he is a decent bloke or an ass.

Make sure you get a name and address to send the cheque recorded delivery to, so that if he fails to deliver, you can go and get your money back, and pay for recorded delivery or even better organise your own courier to collect.

always a risk but if they are a regular user, and you have a correct address and traceable couries then you limit the chances.

please read this thread properly,he has in no way ripped me off,nor have i heard anything remotely suggesting this!!
i am mearly being overly carefull as im not familiar with the who's who of passionford.

to be honest this thread has gone off subject as i was more looking for the safest way to send money rather than profiling someone!

99.99999% you have nothing at all to worry about, he is a genuine guy, not just on here but on other forums with the same user name.

Buy your bits before you get beaten to it
