ive been looking at mk6 escort vans lately, what size engines did they come with from factory? cos it seems to be there all 1.8 or 1.8 turbo
cheers for any advice and sorry for the dumb question

Think they did a 1.4 petrol as well.the turbos your best bet really as they shift along and are good on derv.

The vast majority are 1.8 and 1.8 turbo diesel. I had a non-turbo one, excellent workhorse and surprisingly comfortable (if rather noisy). Very economical though. The only problem I ever had with mine was with the back brakes sticking when it had been stood.

A 1.4 ? REALLY , dont think so , maybe the earlier ones bu tnot the mk6 shape

Aye there is 1.4 cvh engines, seen ex police dog vans in petrol version

And yes you can get them in a mrk6 shape

1.8d and 1.8TD

Ive had 4 Escort vans, TD is ok for what they are and you deffo feel the advantage on steep hills where mine kept its speed up no problem unlike the normal 1.8d But theres one thing with them it doesnt matter if its empty or full to the roof with shite they do the same speed lol

Tough wagon as long as the cambelts changed on a regular basis

check on ebay buddy theres a few petrol escort vans
02 plate etc they go quite cheap as most people prefere the diesels
im after a tank off a petrol cos my rst van still runs the diesel tank
