Default Jaguar x type , any good?

Been thinking of changing the daily runner and quite fancy a Jaguar x type, does anyone know much about these? Want a sport , diesel one in black really.I the 2.2 the one to go for as the 2.0 sounds a bit underpowered? Do they have any common problems etc? Been looking at ones around 05-07 plate.

Common problems: dual mass flywheel, EGR and injector issues.

I had a turbo go on one ONCE [out of probably 30 or so dervs in the last 4-5 years] but thankfully the car was still under manufacturers warranty. Probably had half as many petrols and [touch wood] I've never had a problem that seems to be a common theme. The 2.0 v6 is dreadfully underpowered though imo.

Yes, they've basically mundane-ohs but [maybe it's in my head] they drive a lot better.

Cracking value for money now although I think they look best in light metallic blue!

To be fair the DMF isn't an issue as such, there's nothing wrong with them, and they don't go any more often than in other DMF equipped cars... The injectors on the other hand!!!

Hi fella, yeah their pretty good cars all in all,but avoid automatics at ALL COSTS!!derv is fwd so no sideways action unfortunately.they suffer amazingly with the door rubber blistering like the saph cossies do and of course as their a mondeo engine etc there's the usual injector/pump issues.

Generally they do drive very well, very solid, fit and finish is top class on them.I enjoyed driving a 2.1 but they are really underpowered.it came into the garage unable to find any gears, which I thought would be expensive, but it's sn mtx 75 box and the pin inside the selector shaft had worked loose so it was just a refit job.it was easy to work on tbh,I liked the car.

There were only two engines which offered AWD.

That's a great consolation thanks!

Do you fancy paying for all the times I've had to replace them? In fact, I've got an 06 plate 1.8 TDCi Focus here, just hit 30k miles and the DMF has the death rattle. You can just paypal me the money if you like?

There are shed loads of Mondeo TDCis with huge mileage on their original set ups, and it's common to not need to replace them till after 100k. Sounds like you've been fucking unlucky!
