As above, sounds like the element has broken, so no heat

1st choice element gone.
2nd wire burnt off end of element or thermostat
3rd Thermostat gone

Take the front cover off the element and you may see a lump blown out of the side of it.
If so it's gone

Could be an electronic problem.my smeg did it/does it.try switching t'oven on without the fan and see if it heats up,mine does, and then the fan kicks in automatically, yet when I try and start it on the fan it never warmed up,wierd eh?

Check the grill as well to see if theres a general bad connection etc.

My element went but I got a new one and fitted it myself in 15 minutes - total cost of the job, less than a tenner.

Cost for a call out £80 + Parts (and they wanted something like the same again for an element!)

Thats because the fan oven and conventional oven use different elements.

The fan oven will use an element situated around the fan blade.
Conventional oven use's the grill and a bottom element for cooking.

For the original poster......Does the thermostat light come on when you switch on the fan oven ? If it does......and the fan definitely works , then 90% sure it'll be the circular element behind the oven back plate.

Just make sure the clock is set as most fan ovens won't operate unless the clock is set .
