Default mortgage question

im going to look at a couple of houses on friday, one i am quite interested in. it need quite a bit of decorating but looks to be structuraly solid, when talking to the estate agent today she suggested that i probably wouldn't be able to get a mortgage against the house because the kitchen has been ripped out. is this true??

cheers Neil

It has to be suitable for occuptation. If you stick a microwave in then you can eat, so shouldn't be a problem.
