Hi all,

I wondered if anyone could clear up exactly how the Abs pump is activated? I have my 3 door down to a rolling shell and have just fitted Abs unit and distribrution block back into car along with piping connecting the above.
I thought that I had better power up system prior to putting the engine back in to avoid the nightmare of a leaky bulkhead pipe.
The whole brake system has been completely drain so i filled up with brake fluid and connected a battery up expecting the pump to kick into life as I beleive it should sense low presure? Yet there is nothing, no power is making it to the unit? Would I be right in saying that this brake system is independant of all other electrical systems bar the ignition and does it need any connection with dash instrument/warning lights to operate? (As no dash in totally stripped)
I have hardlined it to the battery and pump brusts into life and seems to be working fine so it appears that whatever tells it to do so is not doing so?
