First question is what is a turbo damper and why would you fit one?

A damper is exactly that, it dampens out vibrations which can snap the exhaust studs and premature turbo wear.

What it listed on ebay ISNT a damper, its just a hanger. It will not serve the purpose that the orignal damper did

as above it just helps to hold it as the turbo and manifold are very heavy so common to break the mounting studs,
common misconception that the bailey 1's are dampers, they are just mounting brackets/hangers

was toying with the idea of raising the car from 260 bhp to 300.
apparently is currently chipped and i can see its runing dark green injectors (803?)
the turbo and manifold is off the 4x4 apparently with bigger compressor wheel and 360 degree bearing

i was reading about a bayjoo chip in burton magazine is this a good option or should i go with the MSD who ive heard so many good things about (do msd do a stage 1 + 'gunship chip'?)

also how can i tellif the car has a 3 bar map sensor?

3 Bar map sensor is grey as opposed to the normal black sensor, also has 'APS 05' written on it's body.
'Gunship' eproms are from NMS in Derby,MSD are in Blackpool and are two different companys.
Fit a set of iridium plugs while your there,i felt a definate difference when i replaced the normal NGK plugs.

If you don't have 100% identical spec to what the chip has been written for, like a larger comp wheel then the chip will be no good.
The trouble with pf is you will only hear the good bits as people don't have the balls to slag off when it is deserved, there is no company in the world that has never cocked up, it's human nature, it's what they do about the cock up that shows what they're like imo.
Either mentioned will do a good job generally, so long as they have a matching spec chip.
A mapping session on your car will be the best though but cost more it can really make a huge difference to get the best.

cheers tabatha, i see you post on here quite often and you definitely seem to know your stuff

i think im gonna go with the live mapping session as im not entirely sure whats standard and whats not with the engine, also for peace of mind that its setup properly and not loads of odd bits bodged together

Just make sure you get all your mods done first, so you only need one session, up to you whether to bother with add on bits such as closed loop, but coil pack is well worth going for, closed loop I wouldn't bother.
