Well its all done... First it was down with the Theory, then CBT, MOD1 and now MOD 2.

This is my official retirement from performance cars.. and now a new life on 2 wheels.

Happy as Larry !!

Well done mate, best thing i have ever done in my life.

Nothing beats getting suited and booted and heading out for the day

Get a good 600 like r6, gsxr, zx 6 etc and treat it with plenty of respect, safe fun is good fun.

After a year get an R1 and get it lifted!!!

Well done! Best thing ever did too!

What bike you going for? Id personally reccommend a 600, r6, cbr6, gsxr, zx6r, 675 etc. You wont go far wrong with any of these. As said above, treat it with respect and youll love it.

Oh and watch out for these bloody tin cans on the road, i know only too well recently that we out our lives in the hands of others drivers!

Not stopped me from getting back on though! No way am i letting some shit for brains driver put me off something that i LOVE doing!

Once you have a bike, cars will feel slow in comparison. Nothing can compare to the buzz you get from bikes.

Yeah good move. Much cheaper and tones of fun. I started on a gsxr400 slingshot import when I passed about 6 years ago. I now have workied my way up to a Yamaha Fzs 1000 Fazer. It has the same 144bhp engine as the R1 but tuned for more mid range. Brilliant all rounder bike with loads of poke. Just treat every car as a retard thats trying to kill you and you will be fine

Enjoy.

Adam.

Cheers guys... I'm going to be starting off with an old cbr600 On an r plate, so I can try and actually learn to ride now. Didn't want to get a new cbr due to them being so small and also I didn't want to drop a new bike.

Well chuffed I passed, with only 2 minors which was a debating point between my instructor and examiner. Basically I got them for signalling left to get back into lane after a couple of overtakes. My instructor said you don't need to signal left once you pass the vehicle to get back into your original lane, but the examiner insisted.

I'm looking forward now to going shopping for some new gear that will actually offer me some protection instead of jeans which I use to wear on my 125.

Definately need to concentrate a lot more compared to a car test, but definately not in the realms of being impossible.

Mod1 is the taxing bit, because it all about slow speed control. I dont know if you know much about MOD1, but whenever someone talks about it they always mention the " dreaded " swerve test. Im a very basic rider and I managed to do it no problems.. personally I found the 15Meter slow ride more taxing.

Mod2 is just a ride around town, normally with a few roundabouts, traffic lights etc. The only thing they get you to do is pull over to the left about 5 times and then get you to pull out again. They are just checking that you are doing your observations right.

Top tip though, make sure that you get a headset which you can clearly hear the examiner. I was suppose to turn right at a roundabout but couldnt hear him as he was muffled.. I went straight ahead into a shopping centre and then had to use to the service roads to get back on route.. doh.
