Default 92mm 8.0:1 Wössner pistons and 136 mm rods

Hello.

Can anyone tell me about the advantages / disadvantages in using this setup on a 200 block?

Can i expect a clattering sound in idle?

And what about durability? Im gonig for 500 BHP so will of course need high boost pressure as well.

All inputs are welcome, thanks.

standard mahle pistons are good for 500hp; the clattering at idle i assume is piston slap you are talking about

4x4 standard pistons will help to stop this.

if you really want to upgrade the pistons, then CP pistons is what you want

It is because i have damaged my mahle pistons, and need to get the block bored to a bigger diameter. I just thought that while im at it, i might as well upgrade to some forged pistons and H-beam rods.

I am interested in hearing about peoples experiences with 136 mm rods, it is not something you hear alot about, and i cant find anything when i search in the forum.

I'm sure woosner pistons are the ones with problems, NASH used them and had no end of trouble with apparent shrinkage/wear, necessitating another rebuild with a different make piston.

I have woosner piston running 8:1 and i have had not probs with them at all, just fit them properly and they are fine. My engine is currently running 454bhp with no problems.
I am also using standard con rods but they have been shot peened.
