Default HELP: Getting standard rear springs back in mk1 Focus

Hi there,
Me and my mates were working well into the early hours this morning trying to get standard springs into the rear of my mk1 focus, I used to have coilovers and the fronts were easy to sort but the rears just wont go back in!
Anybody got any advice?
thanks
Tom

have you disconnected the arb? should help to lower the arm down a bit more.

second idea with the sring compressors. compress the spring off the car and then tie some rope around to keep it compressed. then you can slide the spring in and just cut the rope.

we compressed them and used cable ties, jubilee clips and allsorts, but none could really keep the tension, and we undid the control blade, the arm that holds it up and the arb, was told not to loosen off any of the cups because that could f*** the whole thing up.
cheers

They are a TOTAL CUNT to do. When I took the springs out of my old focus, I put the clamps inside the spring and clamped them up. There's a hole in the bottom of the bottom spring cup for putting the clamps in and out.

If you cannot lower the control arms down then its going to be a right pig of a job. All the suggestions mentioned would work but take care, the only problem with jacking the control arms down is the likely hood of tearing the bushes from their outer shells
