Bought this in July as a winter hack It was cheap so couldnt turn it down!! I was using my mk1 xr2 as a daily but driving it in the snow made me cry so we took it off the road for a mini resto, was using our Rat mk1 fiesta then this came up so i bought it!!

Day after i picked it up for a bargain 300 notes!! 1 owner from new, had 2 weeks mot 6 months tax













Paint was so flat on it, sounded like sand paper when you rubbed it!! I had it professionally polished, the sides came up mint but the bonnet and roof are fucked, i think it sat under a tree for a while, theres bird shit on the roof and bonnet that has ovbiously been left to sit and eat the paint Will get them painted at some point!!

The wheels had to go, they was kerbed to fuck (even the dustcaps had kerb marks) and they looked shite Then of course it needed lowering, ebay bargain helped out there!!!
Its a 88 spec car but with certain 90 spec interior bits, seats and electric wing mirrors are 90 spec, but its only got 1 interior light, no console around the handbrake and no intermitent wipe speed adjuster!!
Ive done over 3k in it, and all it owes me is £800!!! That includes a years ticket (all it needed for mot was valve stem seals doin) and 6 months tax, which for some reason i only paid £68.75 for!!

Anyway, as she sits today;















Its shit slow and seems to drink alot of fuel so might need setting up, i wanna turbo it tho

Its common as you like people not knowing they have. Just look at the scrapage scheme loads of old classics and cars well over book price that went for scrap.

Good to hear you can still pick up bargains. DON'T turbo it though! Everyone will say you should've bought an Rs etc. Lol. Only way I'd turbo mine is if I got hold of a turbo technics kit...

These are some pics i took last week of the old girl!! We still got her, only just, fuckers tried to nick it They got it running but couldnt break the steering lock!! Snapped all the dash cowlings, tore the wries to pieces, bent the door to fuck, then when me mate got in to have a look, he touched the wires, car started, it was in gear and hit a transit parked in front!! Dented the door on a tree to!! It got moved to my drive and some little pikey tried nicking the 50's out the suitcase!!

We lowered it for FF, 10 turns on the coilies Aint been out in it two up yet, but i think we might get stuck

















Cheers for the replies lads, she is a clean old girl, no rust at all underneath!! Only snot on the car is the bottom the rear arches, still solid jus a bit of surface rust, will get that sorted before the shit weather comes!!!

Im slowly getting the bits to turbo it, i no what you mean about people saying i should have got a s2, but a s2 shell in this condition running etc will be 2.5k, this owes me 800 and ive already got a rs head, bottom end and scorpion for a tenna (head and bottom end was free) so il wait for a cheap turbo to come up and go from there!! If i can get it running turbo for under 1k il be well impressed!!

Be carefuel with the tax had that happen on a mondeo of mine they undercharged me for the tax,then a couple of months later got a lterr demanding the rest that was owed,nice clean XR though
