Having problems getting engine temps down. We are here now with 2. Both 4x4s. One with 240bhp no issues and one with 430 is getting hot. Got headlights and gril out. Any other options?

oil cooler and a better rad

 

is it an ally rad?

 

also check your water pump to make sure its a genuine item

 

Air tec ally rad oil cooler fitted. Hot on track. Come in let it run and it cools down. When it's hot, cool air comes out blowers. When it cools hot comes out

 

i reckon its the rad - never been a fan of ally rads.

try putting std rads in. Mike (Boxxer) had a similar thread about this last week)

 

best mod i made to mine to keep the temps down was a turbo pre rad but i also have a 50mm core ally rad and mapped water injection for when the charge temp gets hot

 

Something doesn't sound right there then!

 

The tubes on core on the Airtec rad are too big they are not cooling enough.

If you look at a std rad core and compare to an intercooler core they are different for a reason.

Then look at the Airtec products and they all use the SAME core.

Its not a conclusive answer no - but more of an observation

If OE manufactures use different cores for air/water/oil and all the other aftermarket suppliers use different cores depending on applications........

 

my 350 saff, never got hot on track and that was using a std OE rad,

your rad might be blocked or you got an air lock

try a known good rad and see

on the 4x4 check the thermostat

 

If its got cold air when the cars hot and vice versa its got leakage issues!!!!
Check head gasket or heater matrix..
Never had probs with the airtec rads..

i had a std rad at 400bhp and never had any issues at all either
