Post what would you buy from experience??

right wanting a change from my saph cosworth, and really wanted a escos, its just for the money, you dont get a great deal, i love the head turning that a cosworth gets, its just when you weigh it up the evo is alot more car, however much i dislike jap cars!! i would love to drive these cars first to see how good they are, especially the evo 6 and audi, so any one who has owned/driven any of these give me your opinion on them, the list is,

ESCORT COSWORTH,
BMW E46 M3,
BMW M5,
AUDI S4,
MITSI EVO 6,
RENAULT MEGANE SPORT (225),
or anything else for no more than 10k, the car will not be used everyday, but i want something more all round than the saph.
this is a genuine thread and not sum little 17 year old wanking himself silly over you tube clips!!

cheers in advance

What about a 3 door Cos if you wanting to turn heads, plus 10k would get you more than 10k on a Escos would.

If you not a Ford nut which I don't think you are from your list then Evo all day. Jap or not they are amazing cars but will go down in value where some of your other choices might not as bad (any M series also ).

Renault sorry mate

Either mk1 focus rs

3 door. Both will hold money

Evo is ok for a good rag but thats it, terrible jap quality and shit driving normal.

M3 a nice car, not as fast as ud think tho and servicing can be dear but very swarve?

M5, very fast but uses more fuel than you could beleve.

Not brilliant reasons or detailed but either me or close friends have owned

avoid renault, they`re shit, quick, but rubbish.m3 nice choice but as said above not as quick in the real world as some of the others.m5,nice choice,ebonycos4x4 on heres just bought one so he`d be the boy to ask, audi, again lovely, but a bit low on the old head turning stakes. My choice? What about a nice r32 golf?Should get a minter for that price, loads of tuning potential, look nice and are reliable too.

ive owned all the above apart from the megane(which i quite like the look of).

out of the list:
would i buy a 10k escos-no you dont get much for your money unless very lucky.
would i have another e46 m3,yes great car and a lot of fun when driven properly.
m5 e39-prob best sports car i have ever owned as an all rounder
audi s4-another great car but probably wouldnt have another as you have to look down when parked next to an rs4/rs6 at traffic lights.
evo 6-nice but no better than an impreza in my opinion and i just couldnt get on with mine.a blobeye sti impreza is a better car for the money.
go and look at a merc c32 amg-superb car and up there with the m5 as my best car owned.3.2 litre supercharged= awesome

From experience the Evo (7 & 8 in my case) go well, seemed a very firm ride and imo look good but feel cheap and dated inside.

Megane 225 F1 felt quicker even though it wasn't, didn't feel as solid and although more modern looking inside, felt cheap.

No experience with the others, but would a budget escos be any good condition wise in comparison to some of the others that will be newer, easy to source parts for and in better condition due to mass production bringing the prices down rather than becoming a collectors car?

cheers for your advice, iam not a mk1 focus rs fan to be honest fwd i dont fancy at all and the interior!, the 3dr is something i have looked into for a long time, but it would have to a really good example with good power, and i aint seen many decent ones for under 12k! the m5 seems a natural progression, and as said above the s4 just isnt a rs4! will look at the merc, something i have not looked at, and iam surprised at the comments about the evo and m3, i thought both were ultimate all round road cars, i really iam not a jap car fan, its the power for the buck with them thats all! skyline etc.., but they just dont get the looks a 3dr or escos would! does anyone local to me meet that has got any of the above, 3dr etc? i know the rs owners meet in crewe.

B5 Audi S4, I have not long bought one and its lovely. Dissapears in a carpark so shouldnt get robbed and the transmission will take well over 500bhp as std and its not a lot to get 500 bhp out of them, Just a couple of turbos and few bits but no major engine modifications needed.

This is what i just bought. Standard for now

Cheers Steve
