I've got this hair type material coming out of the exhaust tip, when i've pulled some of it out it's contained particles of rust, some quite large.
It's had a blow for a couple of weeks, sounding like its coming from a silencer, but im not too sure. Any idea what the hair stuff could be?

Had the same problem a few year back ... Just pull out with a modified Coat hanger ..

 

Exhaust packing, used to silence the exhaust. Sounds like a new exhaust is needed.

 

sounds like the sound deading coming out.

 

I thought it could be the sound deadning in the silencer or cat.
Ah well, gives me an excuse to upgrade to an aftermarket exhaust

Or fabricate a straight through pipe at work
Might be a tad loud?

 

Time for an upgrade, at least other half can't give you the 3rd degree about the "bloody car", tell her it's a safety issue ha ha!!
